About Me:
“The Sherlock of Sniffles”
Born under a double rainbow during a solar eclipse, Sarah Kooda-Black’s destiny was sealed when she diagnosed her teddy bear with otitis media at age four and insisted on prescribing gummy vitamins. From that day forward, she has been singularly committed to the care and keeping of tiny humans (and the occasional confused parent).
After dazzling her professors at Western University of Health Sciences by accurately identifying a rash and reciting the entire “Wheels on the Bus” song backwards in Latin, Sarah graduated with her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies in 2024. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree from California Baptist University, where she graduated Cum Laude and was rumored to have tamed a wild stethoscope.
Sarah’s pediatric experience spans the entire kid-spectrum—from colicky newborns to teenagers who only communicate through grunts and memes. Her training includes time spent in general surgery, dermatology, emergency medicine, urgent care, and even the mysterious land of OBGYN (where babies begin their adventure). Wherever she goes, she brings a smile, a sticker, and a magical ability to locate the exact lollipop flavor a child is hoping for.
When not walking on water, she keeps busy solving the mysteries of fevers, fractures, and why Dr. Watson talks about diarrhea all the time. Sarah also enjoys hiking, sipping herbal tea with names no one can pronounce, and attempting to teach her houseplants the art of meditation.
She joins Mission Pediatrics with a heart full of compassion, a brain brimming with knowledge, and a fanny pack filled with Band-Aids, bubbles, and the occasional rubber duck.
