No Using Cell Phones While the Provider is in the Room, Here’s Why

As a matter of respect, patients and parents are asked not to speak on a cell phone or text when the physician enters the room. Please discontinue the usage of your cell phones and consider putting them away when the provider is in the room. Patients and parents who answer calls or remain talking on the phone when our providers enter the room are demonstrating a rudeness that may result in terminating the doctor-patient relationship.  We know that some kids are entertained by videos while you wait, but we need all noisy tablet or phone music turned off during the exam to enable our providers to properly hear you and your child’s heart.  Patients being examined are asked to remove headphones.
