Drug Reps and Vendors are seen in the office on occasion. We find that collaboration with local pharmacists, infant formula reps, vaccine companies, some vendors and pharmaceutical representatives (drug reps) may provide some assistance to our patients that are less privileged or have poor access to medical care. A good example is formula companies giving us samples that saved a lot of children during the pandemic formula shortages. For this reason, we allow these representatives to speak to our physicians and provide free medication samples which we in turn use for underprivileged patients or medical missions.
We respect our providers and believe they have the integrity to make unbiased medication decisions. Also, because our prescribing practices require following strict protocols overseen by our Medical Director and Assistant Medical Director, we do not find that there is undue pressure or influence to prescribe medications or vaccines against the best interest of our patients.
