Too many cooks spoil the soup. We leave highly specialized issues to the specialists. For patient safety, our office requires that all diabetic patients are carefully managed by a pediatric endocrinologist or properly trained advanced care practitioner who works under the supervision of that endocrinologist for all insulin adjustments and prescriptions, including monitoring of appropriate Hemoglobin A1C levels or other necessary labs. Diabetic patients are encouraged to contact their endocrinologist advice team for medication adjustments.
